Firmware n96 v 30.0.33 available !!!! - Nokia N96 Forums

Nokia just released a new firmware update for the Nokia N96. The new version is v30.033 and you can download it from NSU or OTA (Over the air) option. But before you start updating your phone i recommend you guys to make a backup of the entire phone. There’s no official changelog yet, but we’ll update this post as soon as we find one. Apparently this update contains a couple bug fixes and speed improvements though.

Edit: updated all working ok and HelloOX v103 & rompatcher v1.02 is still working ;p
after you update the firmware you need to do a full reset

whats it like? UI speed? more RAM?

Just updated my N96 OTA to this version .. haven't really noticed any difference in the last couple of minutes of prodding about.

Actually -- apart from Nokia Live TV ... this is new? -- hmm this just the TV tuner that's useless in the UK .. did this always live in the APPS folder, can't remember now .. it's just at the bottom of my icon list which is why I thought it may have been new.

Ahhh from what I gather Nokia have changed the Live TV app and moved it, hence why I notice - though unfortunately in the UK it's still an app that you can't use.

Apparently the update brings to it speed improvements and optimisations, it does feel a little more spirited .. but then that last few days my N96 has been running like a 3 legged dog which had 2 legs tied down!

I suspect this is probably the last update we'll see for the N96

Not too sure about this update, phone has been switching off every hour or so since the update. Gonna try a soft reset to see if that sorts my baby out.

Have noticed there is a new thing called status light within standby mode settings. Not sure what it does yet as have selected it but think it may be something like the breathing light but only when you get a text etc. Will update when I find out

Updated last night using OVA and so far no problems, cant see much difference but my N96 was working fine on v20 anyway.
